Old Man Mr. McFarty

This  is a story  about 12 years in the making. I only bring it up  now because the other night I ran into Old Man Mr. McFarty and Hayden could not believe it when I told her the whole thing.

About 12 years ago when Hayden  was  in preschool  I went to pick her up one day. As I pulled up  there was a man on his cell phone  on the sidewalk. As I walk behind him  he lets out  this high pitched fart. As he is in mid fart he turns to see I am behind him.
Air, Anatomy, Ass, Bare, Behind, Blow, Blowing, Bum

He turns back around quickly and walks in the opposite direction. He never issued an apology  or anything he just  kept talking on his phone.  Until that day I have never seen this man before  in my  life.

Fast forward  a few months I see him in a store  he looks me dead in the face  turns red and goes the other direction. I can  not tell  you  how many  times  I have ran into  this man  since this has happened. At the grocery store, restaurants, even the doctors office once.  I do not live  in the smallest of towns  and there are people I have not ran into for years at a time. But Old Man Mr. Mcfarty  has been  consistent  for the past 12 years. I am sure  when he decided  to play  the butt trumpet  that  day he never knew it would haunt him this long. And every  time he gets the same surprised look like "not her again" and hurries off.  Lucky for him he was coming out of the store as we pulled up  and I said to Hayden "Oh My God it is old Man Mr McFarty" which led to me telling her the story and her having a fit of laughter.

King Of the Cardboard Castle

I know I am getting a bit obsessed with my Tokki Bun, but he is just so cute I can't stand it. He loves to see a new box show up and is quick to claim is as his own. I finally built him his own cardboard castle so to speak. He spends most of his time going from one box to another. He has also figured out how to be super cute and get extra treats. His boxes are beside my desk for time time being and he hops to the top one and puts his little feet on my desk and nudges my hand with  his nose. It is just  too much cuteness.

That Little Bunny Face

Just look at that little bunny face. All I want to do is hug  him and squeeze him and kiss his little face.  Sadly he is having none of it.

You know what gets my Goat?

Christmas time is fast approaching and time to start shopping. I have Elliott covered  he reminds me daily to check his amazon wishlist for something new he has added. I am going to need to hit the lottery in the next week or so  to make all that  happen. He has always been easy to buy for. Video games, Doctor Who and anything electronic. See easy!

And then there is Hayden. When I was pregnant and found out she was a girl  I was thrilled. I imagined pink tutus and glitter nail polish. Boy was I wrong. Even though  I do not get to buy her girly things  I do not love her any less. In fact  I probably lover her even more. I do not have to buy expensive designer clothes, no breakdowns  because her sunset pink lipstick is missing, and best of all no drama. A drama free teenage girl can you imagine. How lucky am I?

Anyway back to Christmas. Last night I ask her if she had any ideas what she wanted for Christmas, and with those big brown eyes she looked  at  me and said "I want a baby pygmy goat". She was serious, and this said goat is not suppose to live outside Oh No! she wants to keep it in the house. Now I am not sure there are very many 15 year old girls out there that want a goat for Christmas. In fact I am pretty sure I have cornered the market on them. It makes me so proud that she is so passionate about animals. She would rather spend the day teaching the cats tricks  or getting bunny kisses as opposed  to taking selfies and flirting with boys.  After breaking her heart and letting her know there would be  no baby goat eating the ornaments off the tree this year she had the nerve to ask if she could have another cat.

Maybe I will get  her a selfie stick for Christmas after all.

Don't let sinus pressure get you down

It is finally starting to cool off here in NC. After the hot summer we had I am loving it, except for the fact that I already have a cold. I am usually pretty lucky and do not get sick often but this one has kicked my butt. The past week I have taken a little bit of every kind of over the counter medicine. I either end up sleepy or still stuffed up with a headache. My Smiley360 Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain mission kit arrived right on time.

I have been using the Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain for two days and I do feel less stuffy and have less sinus pressure.

Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain relieves:
• Stuffy Nose
• Sinus pressure
• Nasal Swelling
• Headache
• Fever
• Body aches

You can also get a $1.00 off coupon for
Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain.

I received  this product free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lick The Bowl Chili

I am not quite sure where I found the original recipe for this, but over time I have tweaked it and it has become one of Hayden's favorite. It is simple to make  and so delicious  you will want to lick the bowl.

1lb ground meat
1 package ranch dressing mix
1 8oz cream cheese
1 can  of corn
1 can of black beans
1 can of rotel

Add  the ground meat  to slow cooker on high  until it is has cooked thoroughly. Drain the meat and add the cream cheese and ranch dressing mix. Give it a few minutes for the cream cheese to melt. Drain the corn and beans  add those and the rotel  and let it simmer for 20 to 30 min.

How easy  it that?  I serve it with a little cheese, avocado and lime juice on top, and tortilla chips or tostadas.

My Tokki Bunnny

We have had Tokki since March. Tokki means rabbit in Korean. He was Hayden's Birthday present and FFA project all in one.  She wanted a baby goat I compromised  with a rabbit.  After her bringing home 3 (at that time) cats I really did not want something else to feed and clean up after.

He was  so tiny when we got him  and he was kept in an outside pen  and had not been handled very much. But as all animals do he gravitated toward Hayden from the beginning. I was worried coming into a house with 5 cats that they would hurt him. Luckily  they accepted him and in the beginning Michonne would groom him and sleep in his cage with him. Once he got bigger and decided he ruled the house his attention turned to Clementine. He LOVES her. He will do his fancy bunny dances for her. Sometimes  she is impressed  but most of the time not so much.

Tonight he even managed  to get in on some snuggle action. Now that he is big enough to jump on the bed he likes to take advantage of kitty cat nap time. Clemmy thought he made a pretty good pillow too.
